Our Homecooked Meals
We only feed our dogs human grade food. From chicken and beef to spinach and apples, we only use wholesome ingredients you can recognize and pronounce. We make our dog food and stand behind a complete and well-balanced meal! Our stud and mama are fed this recipe and are the healthiest pups ever! We often will combine a raw diet with this cooked diet to provide a "change." This recipe was validated and reviewed by a Canine Nutritionist and is valid for both puppies and adults. The serving size will vary based on the age of your pup and the size. Please speak directly with your vet to determine what is the correct serving size for you!

KITCHEN EQUIPMENT: (this is what we use and recommend)
1 Ninja Blender
1 Food Saver with freezer roll to make bags
2 large 16qt Stockpots
4 large 13 qt stainless steel bowls for mixing
Digital kitchen scale
Cut chicken breasts in half to reduce cook time and making it easier to blend once cooked. Boil chicken breasts and chicken liver/gizzards in stock pot until cooked thoroughly. Remove from stockpot and place into blender (in batches) and blend until in a chopped consistency. Evenly distribute into mixing bowls.
As chicken is boiling, I will prepare my raw vegetables and fruit. Clean spinach bunches and place in blender until chopped, evenly distribute into mixing bowls. Clean carrots under running water (do not peel), place into blender until chopped or blended to a consistency that works for you dog. Evenly distribute the chopped carrots into mixing bowls. Clean and cut off ends of yellow squash, place into blender (cut as necessary to fit) and blend until desired consistency, evenly distribute into mixing bowls. Clean & core apples (remove all core & seeds), keep peel/skin on, place into blender (cut as necessary to fit) and blend until desired consistency, evenly distribute into mixing bowls. Add blueberries if you desire, you can leave whole or blend.
Once chicken and vegetables are complete, use the same water to boil the sweet potatoes. Cut off ends of potatoes and clean (do not peel). Cut into quarters or large pieces and boil for 15-20 minutes until cooked and soft. Once completed, place into blender and blend until desired consistency, evenly distribute into mixing bowls.
Dump water from stockpot and use pot to brown the ground beef. Cook beef thoroughly and drain fat once completed. Evenly distribute into mixing bowls that currently have the blended chicken, vegetables and fruit.
With your hands, (once cooled), mix all the food together well. Once mixed, add the NuVet Pus K-9 PowderVitamins to completed mixed bowls (please account for the correct amount per the directions on box, typically one packet per pound of food in bowl). Again, mix all food and vitamins together.
Once food is completely mixed, you are ready to use and freeze.
Personally, I measure out two days of food per storage bag. Using a digital kitchen scale, I measure out the appropriate amount of food for three adult dogs for two days. Using my Food Saver Storage machine, I create my bags to freeze. Each frozen bag is good in the freezer for up to 90 days. They typically take 24 hours to thaw in refrigerator, so I take one out as needed.
Upon serving the food in their bowls (I do NOT reheat or cook, I serve cold), I use UPCO Bone Meal (1 tsp daily) - per directions, and mix with their meal and serve. There is no need to add water unless your dog prefers wet food.
